Committees & Programs

Be a part of Big Country SHRM committees! 
  • Workforce Development/Readiness - Led by Amelia Reeves. Continuously monitors and evaluates local activities addressing the broad spectrum of workforce readiness issues impacting both students and other untapped labor pools.
  • Public Relations Committee - Led by Kasey Nixon. The PR Committee provides oversight for all Big Country SHRM’s communication via social forums and social media outlets.  
  • Programs Committee - Led by Natalie Kehres. The Programs Committee provides oversight for all Big Country SHRM’s communication via social forums and social media outlets. Our goal is to provide rewarding educational and social events and programming that promote the Human Resources & Business profession. 
  • Emerging Professionals/University Committee - Led by Phil Vardiman. The Emerging Professionals/University committee works with local universities and businesses to assist current and recently graduated college students along with other young professionals in bridging the gap from student to employee.
  • Finance Committee - Led by Kathy Reppart. The committee assists in overseeing the budget for the various Big Country SHRM committees and/or any additional support the Treasurer sees could benefit the Association.
  • Legal & Legislative Committee -  Vacant: The Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee provides services to keep Big Country SHRM members informed of the status of key legal issues that affect the human resource management field.
  • Membership Committee - Led by Jill Fortson. The Membership Committee recruits members and supports programs and events that provide development opportunities for HR professionals.
  • Certification Committee - Led by Josh Brown.  The Certification Committee manages the chapter's certification study program in order to encourage members to become certified and recertified.
