Updates for 2024 - New Year for Big Country SHRM

Dear Big Country SHRM Members,

Happy New Year! We hope this message finds you well and filled with anticipation for the fantastic year ahead. We are genuinely grateful for your continued support and involvement in Big Country Society for Human Resource Management.

As we embark on the journey of 2024, we are thrilled to share some changes with you for the upcoming year. Above all else, we express our gratitude to the Abilene Country Club (ACC) for graciously hosting our meetings. The ACC has been a source of stability for our organization and we have built many positive relationships with their professional team.

To ensure a continuity and strength for our organization and to provide for cost effectiveness where feasible, we have made a strategic decision to move monthly meetings to a new location, which offers complimentary space. Additionally, we are delighted to announce, going forward, the monthly meeting registration fee will cover catering costs, eliminating the need for monthly meeting price increases for 2024.

As you plan to participate in the 2024 Big Country SHRM regular monthly meetings, please keep the following in mind:

1. Location Change: All future meeting (unless otherwise noted) will be held in the first floor meeting room at the Junior League of Abilene House located at 774 Butternut Street, Abilene, TX 79602. Members are welcome to park in the Junior League of Abilene parking lot north of the League House or in the adjacent Wash this Way parking lot just north of the meeting location.

2. Registration Details: Due to catering arrangements, registration is now non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration will close earlier than in prior years in order to ensure our catering needs have been scheduled appropriately. Please secure your spot for the meetings as soon as possible. Registration will close the Friday prior to the Tuesday meeting.

3. Zoom Meeting Time Adjustment: For 2024, we will continue to offer several monthly meetings via Zoom. Those scheduled Zoom meetings will begin at 10 AM. We hope this will allow for more flexibility during our summer months, when these meetings will take place (June and July).

4. Breakfast Meetings (no change): May and August have been scheduled as morning meetings. The meeting location will be at the Abilene Junior League House on 774 Butternut Street in Abilene, TX.

We understand these changes are an adjustment for all of us; we are confident they will contribute to the thriving success of Big Country SHRM in 2024 and beyond.
