Generations in the Workplace
The current workplace includes five identifiable generations: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials (Generation Y), and Gen 2020. While these generations broadly have many things in common, they also have many different characteristics. These differences, based on major world events, technological innovations, and even parenting styles, impact their communication, values, and needs. Through participation in this workshop, participants will gain an understanding of these differences and be better able to empathize with people in different generations.
The learning objectives of this session include:
-To identify the different generations and their preferred communication styles.
-To understand the different benefit needs of different generations.
-To value what Millennials can bring to an organization.
-To understand the different characteristics of five generations.
-To understand when to modify one's own communications.
