Big Country SHRM Members,

What if our children ran the world? Guess what?! THEY WILL!!

The world of work is full of opportunities and we want to make sure our youth know about it! The WORLD OF WORK (WOW) Youth Expo is designed to expose 8th-12th grade students to employers, post-secondary schools, and organizations from around the region. This event features a keynote speaker, mock interviews, and a wide variety of exhibitors focused on educating and engaging our next generation of workers. In order to make this happen, WE NEED YOU!

The 2016 WOW Youth Expo will be held on Wednesday, November 16th from 9am-2pm at the Abilene Civic Center. We are seeking exhibitors and mock interviewers from a wide range of industries and sizes who are interested in educating youth about the careers in their organization, school options, essential soft skills, etc. Over 2,300+ students are registered from 30 different schools! If you are looking for a pipeline of future employees, here they are!

This event is a great opportunity to showcase your organization to lots of students and one of the most influential ways to connect to students is by having hands-on/engaging demonstrations, materials, activities, games, competitions, vehicles, etc. Any way you can show the students the types of skills needed on the job will help them better understand your world of work!

Registration includes a 10x10 booth, 1 table, 2 chairs, WiFi, electricity, continental breakfast, and 2 lunches for only $50.00! If you need more space, reserve multiple booths at no cost!! Additional lunches are $10/each. Want more perks?! Check out the sponsorship packages!

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to share your organization with youth, teachers, counselors, and parents from across the region! REGISTER TODAY at www.workforcesystem.org/wow! Be sure to check out the video of last year’s event too!
