Please join us for our June monthly Big Country SHRM meeting online via Zoom from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Topic: Crucial Confrontations and Conversations: Dealing with Conflict in the Workplace

Everyone knows the importance of effective communication. Yet, sometimes communication is limited to simply the delivery of information. In today's workplace, effective communication requires a conversation that nurtures both substance and relationship. This presentation provides insight and concrete application steps to recognize the need for constructive confrontation, to initiate the conversation featuring a difficult conversation template, and to implement a plan of action.

Joe L. “Joey” Cope is the Dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Abilene Christian University (Dallas campus). Cope is an Associate Professor in Conflict Management and Resolution at ACU and has served as an adjunct professor at the Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California, the Bowen School of Law in Little Rock, Arkansas, and the Center for Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management at Southern Methodist University.
